The ZED Maturity Assessment Model was showcased at the 8th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar from January 09 to 13, 2017. The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017 aimed at bringing together the Head of States and Government, Ministries, Heads of International Institutions and Academia, Senior Policy Makers and Leaders from the Corporate World to further the cause of development and promote cooperation. The main focus of the summit was “Sustainable Economic and Social Development” which is quite central to the philosophy of ZED that has the over-arching objective of improving the quality and sustainability of manufacturing in India, by focusing on the MSME sector.
Hon’ble Minister of MSME, Shri Kalraj Mishra, addressed the ‘MSME Cluster Basis of Innovation, Inclusion and Competitiveness’ on 12th January 2017 at the Mahatma Mandir in the presence of Hon’ble CM of Gujarat Vijay Rupani, Hon’ble MoS (Industries) Rohitbhai Patel, Hon’ble MoS (State) Pradeepsinh Jadeja, Mr Nitinbhai Patel Deputy Chief Minister, J.N. Singh Chief Secretary of Gujarat, Sanjjay Bhatia President of FICCI CMSME, Mrs D. Tara MD of GIDC, Karnataka’s Small Industries Principal Director and Mr. Medoly Meng VP of China’s MSME. He emphasized the importance & relevance of ZED to Indian MSMEs and how the true implementation of ZED on their manufacturing units can make them globally competitive. He also spoke about the scheme and its finer details and the resolve of the Government to make it a success.
Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani shared the success stories of MSMEs situated in Gujarat and importance of Zero Defect in Quality and Environment Compliance at MSME Cluster Basis Innovation and Competitiveness at the Mahatma Mandir on third day of the eighth biennial VGGS-2017. He emphasized that the level of MSME products and services need to be raised to match the global standards of quality and environment compliance.
Hon’ble Minister of State (MSME), Shri Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary visited the ZED Stall and spoke about the ZED Certification Scheme. He appreciated the efforts of the QCI and the ZED team and highlighted the importance of enhancing the Global competitiveness of MSMEs.
ZED Certification Scheme was showcased in exhibition (MSME pavilion 12A, Stall No. 31) during the event. More than 2000 people visited from various sectors like Automobiles, Electronics, Coir, Textile, Consultancy and many others. The stall was visited by representative of international and national organizations from sectors like International Guidance, Consumer goods and Manufacturers etc. A few MSMEs registered on the spot for the ZED Certification Scheme
A session on ZED Certification Scheme was also organised on January 12, 2017 at the MSME convention (Basis of Innovation, Inclusion and Competitiveness) in the presence of more than 100 participants. The session was delivered in the local vernacular (Gujarati) by Shri P.N. Solanki Assistant Director, MSME-DI, Ahmedabad.
